Ingredients (what you need)
pears
Recipe steps
Wash the pears thoroughly, halve them into quarters, remove the stems, remnants of the flower petals, and cores. Leave the skins on.
Place the pears in a baking dish or a large oven-safe pot and simmer them covered at 180 °C for approximately 2 to 4 hours. The pears will reduce to half their size during simmering, allowing us to fill the entire baking dish or pot.
The simmering time depends on how many and how juicy the pears are. During the process, stir the pears several times.
Let the cooked pears cool, then grind them using a meat grinder.
Fill the ground mixture into jars, wipe the rims, and cover them with lids. Sterilize for 45 minutes after reaching a boil.
This method of preserving the jam ensures its shelf life of up to 3 years. The best pears are those with less juice. For the "máslovka" variety, which is very juicy, it's important to continually remove the juice during cooking.
