1 cup of red lentils
1 large onion
tomato paste
a few cloves of garlic or garlic paste
2 cm grated ginger (don't skimp on the ginger)

Recipe steps

In oil, sauté the chopped onion. Then add the cumin and grated ginger and briefly sauté them together with the onion.
Add the lentils, tomato paste, chopped garlic (if using garlic paste with salt, add it at the end), and pour in water.
Cook the lentils until soft, about 15 to 20 minutes.
When the lentils are soft, season with salt and pepper to taste.
