Ingredients (what you need)
1 cup of almonds
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon of baking powder
2 heaping tablespoons of powdered sugar + for sprinkling
1 cup of softened butter cut into small pieces
1 egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon of finely crushed cloves
1 cream 30%
Recipe steps
First, preheat the oven to 180°C. Blanch the almonds in hot water and peel them. Spread them out on a baking sheet and roast for about 7 minutes until they begin to brown at the back. Then let them cool and finely chop or grind them.
In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, ground almonds, and clove. In a smaller container, beat the softened butter with the sugar and egg yolk, then fold this mixture into the flour mixture. Slightly moisten the dough with a few drops of cream. The dough should be cohesive so that it doesn’t crumble when shaping balls in your palms.
Shape the dough into small balls about 2-3 cm in diameter, then flatten them with your palms. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 30 minutes, and after removing from the oven, sprinkle them with powdered sugar while still warm.
