Bábovka is a treasure of our family tradition, and there are countless different recipes for it. However, sometimes it is best to return to the tried and true basics - to a simple and at first glance...
Ingredients (what you need)
250 g sugar
4 whole eggs
100 ml oil
100 ml warm water
250 g all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
For preparing the pan
fat for greasing
coarse flour for dusting
Recipe steps
First, we prepare a bundt cake pan, which we grease with fat and dust with flour.
We thoroughly mix all the ingredients except for the cocoa.
We pour two-thirds of the batter into the pan. To the remaining batter, we add cocoa, mix it, and then pour it into the pan on top of the light batter.
We bake the bundt cake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 30 to 45 minutes. To check if it is done, we use a skewer, which should come out dry when pulled out.
