Ingredients (what you need)
500 g semi-coarse flour
7 g dried yeast
1 pinch salt
1 egg
200 ml lukewarm milk
50 g grated walnuts
60 g grated gingerbread
125 g butter
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
6 tablespoons plum jam
Recipe steps
First, sift the flour and mix it in a bowl with the yeast, one egg, and a pinch of salt, then pour in warm milk. Knead the dough until it is firm and smooth. Let it rise covered for about 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the clarified butter. You can add a drop of oil to the butter to prevent it from burning.
Place the dough on a work surface and divide it into pieces, about 6 to 8. Let the dough rise for a little longer, then make an indentation in each piece with your finger and add jam to it. Wrap the dumpling and let it rise again for about 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, bring water to a boil in a pot, where you should place a steamer. Place a cloth on the steamer and put the dumplings on it, brushing them all over with melted butter to prevent them from sticking together. Cover with a lid and steam for 15 minutes.
On a plate, sprinkle the steamed dumplings with grated nuts and grated gingerbread, and drizzle with melted butter.
