Braised cabbage with bacon

A great vegetable side dish, but also a main course.
Ingredients (what you need)
600 g cabbage
salt
1 pinch ground black pepper
30 g lard
2 cloves garlic
30 g all-purpose flour
50 g onion
50 g bacon
Recipe steps
Cut the cabbage into strips, add some water, salt it, and briefly steam it. Finely chop the peeled onion. Cut the bacon into small cubes.
Drain the cabbage and set the broth aside. In a pan, sauté the bacon in a bit of lard and add the onion.
When the onion is translucent, add the drained cabbage, and season with salt, pepper, and crushed garlic. Add the cabbage broth and simmer the mixture.
When the cabbage softens, sprinkle it with flour, add a little broth again, and simmer for a while longer.
Serve as a side dish to meat or with boiled potatoes as a main course.
