1 kg pork roast (whole)
4 onions
600 g pickled cabbage
As needed
all-purpose flour
caraway seeds
granulated sugar
ground paprika
soy sauce
oil
salt
ground pepper
For serving
dumplings (bread, potato, etc.)
Recipe steps
We grease the baking dish with oil. We finely chop 3 onions and place them in the baking dish. We cut the washed meat into larger pieces and place them on top of the onions.
We sprinkle with paprika, add soy sauce, salt, and pepper, and pour water in so that the meat is submerged.
We place it in a preheated oven at 200 °C and bake until the meat starts to gently fall apart. It is good to check and baste every 15 minutes.
We put the cabbage in a pot, sprinkle it with caraway seeds, salt, add a little water, and cook for 20 minutes. Then we thicken it with flour and let it thicken.
In a pan, we sauté the finely chopped onion with a pinch of sugar until it browns. We mix it into the cabbage. We serve with potato dumplings.
