Ingredients (what you need)
Dough
100 g butter
250 g honey
120 g powdered sugar
600 g all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
1 pinch of salt
1 baking powder
Additionally
1 yolk for brushing
Icing
150 g powdered sugar
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 egg white
Recipe steps
In a pot, we add butter, honey, sugar, and cocoa, and heat while stirring continuously until the sugar is completely dissolved. Then we remove it from the heat and let it cool.
To the cooled sugar mixture, we add flour that has been mixed with baking powder and salt, as well as eggs. We create a smooth dough and let it rest for about 40 minutes.
We preheat the oven to 200 °C in time.
Then, on a floured surface, we roll the dough thinly into a sheet about 4 mm thick and cut out various shapes.
We place the cut-out shapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake them in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
After baking, we brush them lightly with beaten egg yolk and let them dry.
For the icing, we whip the egg whites, vinegar, and sugar until a stiff mixture is formed, with which we can decorate.
