Ingredients (what you need)

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 piece onion, finely chopped
250 g ground meat (mix of beef and pork)
salt
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
3 tablespoons tomato paste
2 teaspoons sweet paprika
250 g rice
3 tablespoons canned peas
5 slices roasted pepper in oil, chopped into small pieces
600 ml beef broth
200 g shredded Edam cheese for serving
flat-leaf parsley for serving
pickles for serving

Recipe steps

In a larger pan or pot, heat the oil and sauté the onion until golden.

Add the meat, season with salt, and sauté everything. While sautéing, break the meat into pieces with a spatula. Finally, add the finely chopped garlic and sauté for a moment.

Pour in the tomato paste, sauté briefly, sprinkle everything with paprika, sauté again, add the rice, peas, and bell peppers, pour in the broth, stir, cover, and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender.

At the end of cooking, if necessary, add a bit more broth.

Serve topped with cheese, garnished with parsley, and with pickles.
