Ingredients (what you need)

1 chicken
5 apples
2-3 cloves of garlic
50-100 g of bacon
marjoram
salt

Recipe steps

We wash the apples and cut them into eighths, first halving them and removing the cores. We peel the garlic and crush it with salt. We slice the bacon into thin strips.

We thoroughly season the chicken with the crushed garlic and salt and generously sprinkle it with marjoram. Then we place a few slices of bacon inside and stuff it with the cut apples, not needing to pack them in tightly.

In a roasting pan, we place the remaining apples, put the stuffed chicken on top, and add pieces of bacon. If we have extra bacon, we can also put it on the apples.

We pour about 1 deciliter of water into the bottom of the roasting pan and cover it. Then we choose how long we want to cook the dish, either faster at a higher temperature or slower at a lower temperature.

We place the chicken in an oven preheated to nearly 100 °C and let it bake for five hours.

After this time, we raise the temperature to 180 °C and finish baking the chicken until it has a golden crust. As soon as it starts to brown, it is good to baste it with the juices. This method is much juicier, and the meat literally falls off the bones and melts in your mouth.

This process can be shortened by baking the chicken immediately at 170-180 °C. In this case, it is necessary to cover it and bake for the first half hour.

A good side dish is potatoes, rice, or bread, and baked apples that will rather turn into a puree should not be missed.
