Potato pancakes will spice up our menu. They are best when warm. In the winter, they will keep you warm.

Ingredients (what you need)

4 - 5 pcs potatoes
1 pc egg
oatmeal - small bowl
water
salt
cheese - e.g. Edam, Camembert, etc.
lard - pork
1 clove Czech garlic
flour - all-purpose
1 handful marjoram - fresh or dried
red pepper
processed meat soft or spicy sausage
starch powder e.g. Solamyl
favorite seeds

Recipe steps

In a pot, we place potatoes (without peeling), add water, and lightly salt. We cook until semi-soft.

We preheat the oven, prepare a silicone mat, and a round cookie cutter.

We grate the cold potatoes into a bowl.

We soak the oats for a moment in hot water.

We transfer them to the bowl along with an egg.

We season (without salt) and add herbs. We thicken with starch flour. We can substitute with plain flour (in which case, we add another 40 g of grated lard).

We add crushed garlic. We mix well.

We spread the mixture on the mat. Lightly roll it out. We use the round cookie cutter (e.g. for hamburgers) and transfer the individual patties to the baking sheet. Ideally, on baking paper.

We brush with liquid lard using a brush. We sprinkle with herbs, salt, etc. It depends on our taste.

Or we can spread our favorite seeds on top.

If we do not want to use lard, we can just drizzle with water mixed with a little salt.

We place it in the preheated oven (about 180°C) for about half an hour.

In the meantime, we chop some good cheese, soft salami, or even a red pepper using a hand mixer. A few minutes before finishing, we arrange the ingredients on top and let it cook in the oven for a while.
