Ingredients (what you need)
600 g peeled potatoes
600 g cauliflower
40 g butter
salt
Optional
cooking cream (usually not necessary)
garlic
nutmeg
parsley, wild garlic
parmesan or other cheese to taste
bacon or dried ham
Recipe steps
Cut the potatoes into smaller pieces, cover them with water so that they are just submerged, and add salt. Place the cauliflower florets on top of the potatoes and cook until everything is tender. We can also add a crushed clove of garlic or a pinch of nutmeg. After cooking, drain, add butter, and use a potato masher or mixer to create a smooth puree. It is not necessary to add cream or milk, as the cauliflower has enough moisture. If we do want to add them, we should do so after whipping to avoid a too-liquid consistency. For a variation of the puree, we can add grated cheese to taste, fresh herbs, or crispy bacon bits.
Before serving, we can drizzle with butter and sprinkle with herbs.
