Oatmeal Patties

We cook the flakes with water until they thicken into a porridge and then let them cool. We cut the bacon into small pieces and fry it, then add the chopped onion and continue frying.

500 ml of water
1 egg
1 onion
100 g of bacon

We boil the flakes with water until we get a thick mixture, and then we let it cool down.
We cut the bacon into small cubes and fry it. Then we add the chopped onion and continue frying. We pour this mixture into the oatmeal, add the eggs, and mix thoroughly. We season with salt and pepper and, if necessary, thicken with breadcrumbs or semolina.
We let them rest for about 15 minutes, then we form patties, coat them in breadcrumbs, and fry in hot oil.
We serve them as traditional meatballs with mashed potatoes, salad, cucumbers, and other side dishes.
