Ingredients (what you need)
400 g groats
150 g lard
50 g dried mushrooms
5 cloves of garlic
3 onions
1-5 tablespoons of marjoram
butter
salt
ground pepper
lard for greasing the baking dish
Recipe steps
We let the mushrooms soak in warm water for 1 to 2 hours.
Peel the onion and finely chop it. Peel the garlic and crush it.
Pour hot water over the grains, rinse them, and cook with a piece of lard until softened. Then drain the excess water.
Sauté the onion in lard.
Add the soft grains, mushrooms, and season with pepper, salt, crushed garlic, and marjoram.
Grease a baking dish with lard and then fill it with the mixture.
Place it in an oven preheated to 180 °C and bake for about 30–40 minutes.
Before serving, add a piece of butter, which will give the dish a creamier consistency.
