Ingredients (what you need)
(Quantity for 1 egg)
2 tablespoons of water
1/4 teaspoon of vinegar
1 egg
1 teaspoon of butter
salt
pepper
1 teaspoon of green herbs
parsley
chives
basil
Recipe steps
Pour water with vinegar into a small bowl and heat it covered in the microwave at full power until it starts to boil (this takes about 30-45 seconds). Crack the eggs, poke the yolk, and carefully place them into the boiling vinegar water.
Cover the bowl and heat it in the microwave at 70% power for 1/2 to 3/4 minute. Then remove the bowl from the microwave and let the eggs rest covered for about 2 minutes. Finally, take the eggs out of the bowl and let them drain on paper towels.
Poached eggs can be served by heating butter in a small bowl at full power for about 30-45 seconds, seasoning with salt and pepper, and adding finely chopped parsley or other vegetables, which are then distributed over the eggs.
If cooking two eggs at the same time, we need to account for a longer cooking time, both for the vinegar water and the eggs, where we add about half a minute. When cooking three eggs, we add at least one minute to the recommended time and turn the bowl once or twice during cooking.
Eggs cook better if a maximum of 3 are prepared at once.
Additional information about the recipe Lost Eggs
Poached eggs, also known as lost eggs, are an excellent delicacy often served on toast or in salads. In their preparation, the eggs are cooked without their shells in hot water, allowing the egg white to set while the yolk remains runny. This delicate dish can be flavored with various herbs, salt, and pepper. It is great as a breakfast or a light lunch and is rich in protein. Poached eggs are even often used in traditional recipes, such as Eggs Benedict, where they are served on an English muffin with hollandaise sauce.
