Ingredients (what you need)
Dough
1 kg all-purpose flour
30 g fresh yeast
350 ml lukewarm milk (or more, as needed)
120 g butter
100 g granulated sugar
2 egg yolks
1 pinch of salt
Additionally
1 egg for brushing
butter for greasing the pan
liquid honey
powdered sugar
Recipe steps
From a small portion of milk, flour, a teaspoon of sugar, and crushed yeast, we create a starter that, after rising, we mix with sifted flour, sugar, and a pinch of salt.
We whisk the egg yolks into a foam and mix them with softened butter, which we then add to the flour and starter. If needed, we add lukewarm milk and knead a smooth, non-sticky dough, which we let rise in a warm place.
From the dough, we create pieces that we round, then roll into thin rolls about 20 cm long and twist them into spirals, which is the characteristic shape of Easter pastries, or we shape them into S-shapes, knots, chicks, and other shapes.
We place them on a greased baking sheet or one lined with baking paper and let them rise a little more.
Next, we brush them with beaten egg and bake in a preheated oven at 190 °C.
After baking, while they are still hot, we brush them with melted hot honey. If someone doesn't like it, they can sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
