In a large skillet, heat the oil, add the chopped onion, carrot, and parsley, and sauté everything together for 3 minutes. Then add the ground meat and continue to sauté for about 5 minutes until the meat browns.

Ingredients (what you need)

2 tablespoons of sunflower oil
1 large onion
1 large carrot
1 large parsley root
750 g ground beef
2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
400 ml beef broth
1 tablespoon tomato paste
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
salt
pepper
Top layer
750 g potatoes
30 g butter
2-3 tablespoons milk
125 g grated Parmesan cheese (or Cheddar)

Recipe steps

In a deep pot, heat the oil, then add the chopped onion, carrot, and parsley, and sauté them for three minutes. Next, stir in the ground meat and continue frying for about five minutes until the meat is browned.

Add the flour, stir, and heat for about one minute. Then add the broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cover everything and simmer slowly for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Meanwhile, prepare the top layer: boil the potatoes in salted water, then drain the water, add butter and milk, and mash the potatoes into a puree. Season with salt and pepper and mix in the cheese.

Divide the meat mixture into four ovenproof bowls, or place it in one large dish, and cover it with the mashed potatoes. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 20-25 minutes.

The mash should be golden brown and the filling should be bubbling. Serve the pie warm.
