Chili (chilli) con carne

We make crosswise cuts in the tomatoes, pour hot water over them, and then peel them. If we are using canned tomatoes, we can skip this step. We finely chop the onion.
Ingredients (what you need)
1 kg ground beef
4 large tomatoes or a can of crushed tomatoes
1 large onion
150 g red beans cooked until just tender
chili peppers (amount according to taste, but at least two)
1 tsp ground coriander
1/2 tsp ground cumin
(if you can find Mexican Fajitas spice somewhere, it works great)
a pinch of cinnamon
2-3 squares of quality dark chocolate or a flat tsp of cocoa
oil
salt
(sometimes I also add canned corn kernels to the beans, we like them there, but they are probably not in the original recipe)
Recipe steps
We slash the tomatoes crosswise, blanch them, and then peel them. If we are using canned tomatoes, we can skip this step. We finely chop the onion.
In a deep pan, we first sauté the onion and add the chopped chili peppers at the end. We add the meat and continuously break it apart while sautéing to prevent large chunks from forming. We season with salt and spices and let it simmer for about 15 minutes on low heat in its own juices.
Next, we add the tomatoes and let it simmer for another half hour, occasionally adding water.
We add the beans and let them cook for another 15 minutes.
Season the mixture, add chocolate or cocoa, and optionally add chili pepper as well. When serving, sprinkle with coriander.
