4 chicken thighs
100 g bacon
salt
ground pepper
ground cumin
pork lard
white wine (for braising)
Recipe steps
Thoroughly wash the chicken thighs, fill them with strips of bacon, and salt them on all sides.
Grease a baking dish with lard, place the chicken thighs in the bottom, season with pepper, sprinkle with caraway seeds, and pour in the wine.
Roast the chicken covered at 180 °C for 60 to 90 minutes, depending on size, until tender.
During roasting, it is necessary to turn the thighs. 20 minutes before the end of roasting, they can be left uncovered to brown the skin nicely.
Serve with dumplings and sauerkraut.
