We boil the cabbage head in salted water, then carefully peel off the individual leaves. We either trim the stalks or gently beat them with a mallet. On the leaves, we place a slice of cheese, ham, and so on.

slices of ham hock
slices of more flavorful bacon
slices of smoked cheese
eggs
flour
breadcrumbs

Recipe steps

We boil the cabbage in salted water, then we peel off the individual leaves and either trim the stems or lightly crush them with a pestle.

We place a slice of cheese, ham, bacon, and again a slice of cheese on the leaves.

We roll them up, coat them in three types of batter, and fry them until golden.
