Bread dumplings

Bread dumplings are among the traditional dishes of our gastronomy, whether with delicious sauces or with tasty goulash. Prepare your own fluffy dumplings and delight your loved ones...
Ingredients (what you need)
1 kg all-purpose flour
30 g yeast
2 rolls
2 eggs
500 ml milk
1 teaspoon salt
Recipe steps
We pour flour into a bowl and add salt. We crumble the yeast into the flour.
In lukewarm milk, we mix in the eggs, then pour the mixture into the bowl with flour and create a dough, to which we add chopped rolls.
We sprinkle the surface of the dough with plain flour so it doesn’t dry out and let it rise.
Then we cut the dough into four or six pieces, depending on how large we want the dumplings to be.
We shape them into rolls and let them rise for another 15 minutes.
Next, we place them in boiling water and cook them for 20 minutes.
We know the dough is properly risen when the dumplings do not sink to the bottom but float nicely on the surface. We then transfer the dumplings to a board or work surface, prick them with a two-pronged fork or skewer, turn them over, and prick them again. Finally, we cut them into two pieces with thread. For easy removal, a so-called dumpling maker is very useful.
