Ingredients (what you need)
fresh tomatoes
olive oil
fresh basil
salt
For 1 kg of finished purée
3 tablespoons of oil
7-8 basil leaves
salt to taste
Recipe steps
Thoroughly rinse the tomatoes, cut them in half, and use a spoon to scoop out the pulp. Chop the basil into larger pieces. Prepare and disinfect the jars and their lids.
Place the chopped tomatoes into a pot, add a small amount of water, and cook them in an uncovered pot while stirring occasionally, until they break down.
Pass the cooked tomatoes through a sieve or a food mill.
Put the mixture back into the pot, add oil and salt, and slowly cook until the desired consistency is reached. Finally, add the chopped basil to the hot tomatoes.
Fill the sterilized jars and process them at 85 °C for 35 minutes.
