Fragrant rolls and baguettes

Fresh homemade pastry that fills the entire apartment with aroma. A fairy tale. Try it, and you will see that it is easy.

Ingredients (what you need)

25 g butter
1 tablespoon milk
1/2 kg flour - plain
300 ml milk - semi-skimmed
1 teaspoon sugar
14 g yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 piece egg yolk
sesame seeds
poppy seeds

Recipe steps

We will prepare a bowl and make a starter. In the bowl, we put yeast, sugar, and lukewarm milk. We let it rise.

Then we prepare a large bowl and sift flour and salt into it. We add softened butter and the starter. We mix well.

We dust a silicone baking mat with flour and roll out the dough using a rolling pin. We cut it into triangles. Then we roll them up. The tip must be on top.

Now we will braid the rolls. It’s enough to braid three strands (thick noodles) and it’s done. We place the crescent rolls and buns on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and let them rest and rise for 30 - 40 minutes.

We preheat the oven. We mix a spoonful of milk with the egg yolk and brush the pastries. We garnish with sesame seeds or poppy seeds. We bake for 20 minutes at 220 °C.
