Elderflower syrup

Elderberry syrup is one of the favorite delicacies, with homemade versions being even more sought after. We can use it in lemonades or when baking a bundt cake. It doesn't matter how many liters we make.
Ingredients (what you need)
30 elderflower blossoms
2 kg granulated sugar
50 g citric acid
3 organic lemons
2 l water
Recipe steps
We will free the elderflower from small insects by gently shaking them. Then we bring water to a boil, let it cool, and pour it over the flowers.
We mix in the juice of one lemon and two lemons sliced into rounds. Then we add citric acid and let the mixture steep for 24 hours.
After this time, we filter the liquid through a cloth or gauze, add sugar, and heat it in a pot. We stir occasionally, and once the sugar has dissolved, we pour the syrup into bottles.
The syrup is intended for quick consumption and we store it in the refrigerator. We can also pour it into preserving jars, seal with lids, and process for 20 minutes at a temperature of 85 °C.
