Classic Chicken Paprikash

4 servings chicken
1 pc onion
40 g flour
50 g butter
2 dl cream (12%)
ground sweet paprika
to taste salt
Recipe steps
We clean and cut the chicken into pieces. We peel the onion and chop it into cubes. In butter, we sauté the onion until it turns golden, then we stir in the ground paprika. After it sizzles, we pour in a little water, add the salted pieces of chicken, and simmer covered. While simmering, we add water as needed.
We take out the tender pieces of chicken, thicken the juice with a light roux (which we prepared from flour and butter), whisk it together, and cook for at least 20 minutes to create a thicker sauce. We pour in cream, let it come to a boil, and season with salt. We pour the sauce over the pieces of chicken and warm them up.
