1 Christmas loaf (500 g)
5 larger apples
250 ml milk
3 tablespoons rum
40 g butter
2 eggs
raisins (to taste)
nuts (to taste)
cinnamon sugar (to taste)
butter for greasing the baking dish
Recipe steps
Grate the apples coarsely and cut the Christmas bread into thicker slices.
Each slice is dipped in milk and layered in a baking dish that has been greased with butter.
On the bottom, place the apples, raisins, and chopped or grated nuts, sprinkle everything with cinnamon sugar, and drizzle with melted butter and rum. Continue layering this way, with the last layer being the Christmas bread. Just drizzle it with butter and pour over a mixture of beaten eggs with a little milk.
Bake in the oven at 180 °C until golden brown. Serve dusted with powdered sugar and garnished with whipped cream. It tastes wonderful when you add pieces of apricots to the apples, for example, canned ones.
