Ingredients (what you need)
buckwheat (groats or cracked buckwheat)
onion
garlic
salt (to taste)
water
butter (or lard, oil, bacon, etc.)
Recipe steps
– I pour the buckwheat into a bowl and cover it with boiling water, then I cover it with another plate and let it sit (groats for about 10 minutes, crushed buckwheat for about 5 minutes). – In a pan, I sauté onion and crushed garlic in fat (depending on what I want to add, sometimes I also include bacon), then I mix in the soaked buckwheat and let it stay covered until serving. I have heard that buckwheat is good to eat with raw vegetables, and if you have something sweet, then with fresh fruit, because vitamin C enhances the effectiveness of rutin. Personally, I don't add salt, but you can adjust it to your taste.
