We will cook the groats separately. We will prepare regular mashed potatoes, into which we mix the cooked groats, sauerkraut, crushed garlic, salt, pepper, and marjoram. We thoroughly mix all the ingredients.

Ingredients (what you need)

1.40 kg potatoes
300 ml milk
2 tablespoons butter
300 g cooked groats (can also be porridge)
100 g raw sauerkraut (chopped)
3 cloves garlic
salt to taste
pepper
marjoram
2 onions - fry in lard or oil - for topping the mash before serving

Recipe steps

Cook the groats separately.

Prepare traditional mashed potatoes, into which mix the cooked groats, sauerkraut, crushed garlic, salt, pepper, and marjoram. Mix everything thoroughly.

Serve with smoked meat and fried sausage according to preference. Sprinkle the mashed potatoes with fried onions.
