Homemade Griotka

We will prepare a well-washed 5-liter jar and washed cherries.
Ingredients (what you need)
4 l fresh cherries
1 l rum
1 kg sugar
as needed 1 l vodka or spirit
Recipe steps
In the jar, we always put a layer of cherries and a layer of sugar. We fill the whole jar this way, seal it, and place it in a dark, cool place for a day.
After opening, we pour rum over it until it covers the last layer. We let it sit for 6-8 weeks. Every week, we open it and stir.
After the time has passed, we strain the cherries and set them aside for later tasting.
We mix the strained liquid with vodka or some stronger alcohol, the amount is up to your discretion.
