Bacon Christmas Kuba

Christmas starter.
Ingredients (what you need)
500 g groats
1 pc large onion
100 g lard
6 cloves garlic
200 g dried mushrooms
200 g bacon
to taste salt
pepper
marjoram
crushed caraway seeds
Recipe steps
We soak the dried mushrooms and let them soften for about an hour.
In water, we rinse the barley, which we then cook in salted water, adding a teaspoon of lard so that the barley does not stick. We finely chop the peeled onion, press the garlic, and sauté them in a pan with melted lard. Then we add the mushrooms. We let it simmer for 15 minutes.
After that, we mix everything with the barley.
We prepare a baking dish, grease it with lard, and line the bottom with bacon. We pour our mixture in, spreading it evenly throughout the dish, and place more bacon on top of it.
We put it in a preheated oven at 200°C and let it bake for about 45 minutes.
We serve it sliced.
