To prepare Baklava, we will need phyllo dough. It is layered with ground nuts and drizzled with sweet syrup. The aroma of Baklava will give you an intoxicating feeling of excitement. And even though Baklava has its roots as far back as the 11th century, it remains the most popular dessert among all Greeks to this day.

Ingredients (what you need)

5 cups almonds
4 cups sugar
breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
phyllo dough
lemon juice
salt
butter

Recipe steps

Almonds, sugar, and two tablespoons of breadcrumbs are combined into one mixture. We add cinnamon and lemon juice. We spread the phyllo on a baking tray and brush it with softened butter. We sprinkle a layer of sugar mixture and cover it again with a sheet of dough. We bake for about 35 minutes at 280 degrees.
