Baked pasta with broccoli and cheese

A simple recipe for a quick lunch. It’s a lighter version of American mac and cheese. The broccoli is so cleverly incorporated that no one will refuse it.
Ingredients (what you need)
250 g pasta (corkscrew, macaroni, etc.)
20 g ghee butter
1 onion
20 g all-purpose flour
350 ml milk
150 ml chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
150 g grated cheddar
250 g chopped broccoli
30 g grated parmesan
10 g breadcrumbs
Recipe steps
Cook the pasta and broccoli in salted water until al dente. Then drain and cool them under cold water to stop the cooking.
In a large skillet, sauté finely chopped onion in melted butter. Then add flour and stir for about 1-2 minutes. Next, pour in the milk and chicken broth, mix well, and bring to a boil. The sauce needs to be stirred constantly, especially when it starts to thicken. After about 5 minutes, remove it from the heat, stir in the cheese, and mix until the cheese is completely melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste; I added a little thyme and rosemary.
Combine with the pasta and broccoli, transfer to a baking dish. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs mixed with parmesan. Bake for 20 minutes at 200°C. Finally, turn on the grill for a few minutes to give the breadcrumbs a golden color.
