All the ingredients except for the wine and brandy are placed in a pot and heated until the sugar dissolves. Finally, we add the wine and continue heating.

Ingredients (what you need)

1 l of red wine
100 ml of brandy or cognac
100 ml of water
8 slices of orange
8 thin slices of lemon
8 cloves
2 dried star anise
a piece of whole cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of freshly grated nutmeg
a pinch of dried ginger
6 tablespoons of sugar

Recipe steps

All the ingredients except for the wine and brandy are placed in a pot and heated until the sugar dissolves. Then we add the wine and continue heating until the mixture is hot (it should be steaming but not boiling). Finally, off the heat, we stir in the brandy or cognac.
