Excellent recipe for pub-style pork goulash.

Ingredients (what you need)

500 g pork shoulder
350 g onion
2 teaspoons sweet paprika
1 tablespoon tomato paste
ground black pepper
2 cloves garlic
marjoram
1 pc bay leaf
6 berries whole allspice
1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
salt
1 cube meat bouillon
1 pc chili pepper

Recipe steps

Cut the meat into cubes and the onion into small pieces.

Sauté the onion until golden. Add the paprika, meat, and briefly sauté to prevent the paprika from becoming bitter. Pour in water, add tomato paste, chili pepper, caraway seeds, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 1.5 hours until the meat is nearly tender, adding water as needed, then add meat broth and thicken with flour dissolved in water. The goulash should not be thick; otherwise, the fat will not rise to the surface. Then let it simmer on low heat for another 20 minutes. Finally, add the pressed garlic and marjoram.

Serve the pub-style pork goulash with fresh bread or bread dumplings.
