Today we will make a brine for pickles. We will pick cucumbers from the garden, clean them, and wash them thoroughly.
We will prepare pieces of carrots, onions, dill, spices, etc. After filling the jars with cucumbers (jars and lids should be washed thoroughly), we will add pieces of vegetables and spices as mentioned above. We will pour in the brine that we will now prepare.
In a large pot, we will bring water to a boil (see ingredients). We will add sugar, saccharin, and spices. We will salt it and add vinegar. We will stir continuously. We will boil for about twenty minutes.
Then we will pour the finished brine over the jars. We will seal them and sterilize. The brine is very tasty.
Additional information about the recipe Pickle brine
Brine for cucumbers is a key element in pickling cucumbers for the winter. Traditionally, it consists of water, vinegar, sugar, and salt, creating the characteristic sour taste that cucumbers absorb. In addition to the basic ingredients, it is common to add mustard seeds, dill, bay leaves, and garlic for extra aroma and flavor. Some people also add black pepper or hot peppers for a spicier variant. The brine is briefly boiled and then poured over the cucumbers in a canning jar, which are tightly sealed and sterilized. The right brine is therefore the foundation for crunchy and tasty pickled cucumbers.
