Recipe steps
We will prepare four mugs, which we will thoroughly coat with oil or lard and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
Grate the cheese and cut the ham into small cubes. In each mug, put a little cheese (about 1-2 cm) and add a piece of ham.
In each mug, place an egg on top of the ham (you can also beat the egg with salt and spices and pour it over the ham) and cover again with ham, and finally sprinkle with cheese.
We will place these prepared mugs in a baking dish with higher edges and fill it with hot water up to the edge of the mugs.
Put the baking dish with the mugs into the preheated oven and bake at the highest temperature for about 20 to 30 minutes.
While still hot, we flip them out and serve them with potatoes or fries accompanied by ketchup or tartar sauce. We can try various proven enhancements: - instead of ham, you can use Debrecen sausage or Orava bacon - you can add some smoked cheese or Niva to the cheese mixture for a more pronounced flavor - on the egg, under another layer of ham, we can add 2-3 pieces of sliced canned mushrooms - sometimes it is enough to use 3 eggs for 4 mugs - it also depends on the type of cheese (it's good to try) - this mixture can also be prepared in a silicone muffin mold.
