Fried cauliflower in spicy batter
We briefly boil cauliflower florets in salted water and then immerse them in cold water. We mix caraway seeds into the eggs and season with salt. Then we add sumac and season with pepper.
Ingredients (what you need)
350 g cauliflower
2 eggs
a little milk
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1.25 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon sumac spice
bread crumbs as needed (not necessary)
vegetable oil for frying
Recipe steps
Blanch the cauliflower florets in salted water for a moment and then cool them in ice water.
Add cumin to the eggs and season with salt. Then sprinkle in sumac and pepper. Add flour and a small amount of milk (add milk carefully to keep the batter thicker) and mix everything well.
Coat the cauliflower florets in the batter, and if we have used too much milk, add breadcrumbs, in which we then coat the cauliflower again.
Fry the cauliflower in a deep layer of oil. Serve with fries and cucumber dip.
